Penn State Brandywine ended a nine-month celebration of its milestone 50th anniversary with a community service initiative that had students, faculty, staff and alumni complete 50 projects within 50 hours.
This spring, Kevin Cauley and fellow Penn State Brandywine students Grace Smith and Christine Niche organized a trip to Philadelphia to clean the city’s streets and parks. They recruited nearly 15 students from both the Brandywine and York campuses to spend the afternoon disposing of litter and collecting recyclable items.
The Penn State College of Nursing's honor society, Beta Sigma, selected the Jared Box Project as its service project for spring 2016. Created by nursing students at Penn State Schuylkill and several other Penn State campuses, Jared Boxes are shoebox-sized plastic containers full of toys, games and other items to help distract and entertain children who are in the hospital.
