Internships in Communication Arts and Sciences - CAS 495

- apply your knowledge of communication in a practical work setting
- develop new communication skills
- make valuable contacts during your internship
You have the opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge to many types of internship positions, depending on your interests and background. Some examples of internship areas include:
- Training and development
- Speech writing
- Political campaigning
- Survey work
- Sales and marketing
- Public speaking training
- Dispute resolution
- Public administration
- Government work
- Cross-cultural communication
- Counseling
If students choose to do an internship, the internship is usually done during the 7th or 8th semester. Internships are usually taken for 3 credits, and count toward CAS major requirements at the 400-level.
Internships in the Communication Arts and Sciences major are encouraged, but not required.
Internships in Communication Arts and Sciences are offered during Spring and Fall Semesters.
