Andy Landmesser, assistant teaching professor of information sciences and technology at Penn State Brandywine, was recently named the College of Information Sciences and Technology Statewide Faculty Member of the Year. He was presented with the award at the fall IST faculty meeting on Nov. 7.
Christine Brown has been appointed the interim Rosenberg Director of Penn State Brandywine’s Center for Social Impact as of Nov. 1. She succeeds Vippy Yee, the inaugural director of the Center, which was formerly known as the Center for Ethics and Civic Engagement.
Penn State students, faculty and staff with older versions of the id+ card are being asked to submit new photos ahead of re-carding events that will be held University-wide during the spring 2023 semester. There are multiple ways to submit a photo, and photos will be accepted from Nov. 7 through Nov. 23.
During October, Penn State Brandywine celebrated Fair Trade Month — holding several events to raise awareness of the movement — as well as the 10th anniversary of Brandywine’s designation as a Fair Trade Campus in 2012.
As part of Penn State Brandywine’s celebration of Diwali — the Festival of Lights — students Raneem Abdelradi and Munia Akter added flower petals to the rangoli, a colorful Indian art form. The Oct. 21 event was sponsored by the campus’ Multicultural Club and Multilingual and International Student Programs.
