Why Major in Multidisciplinary Studies?
This popular program combines a classic liberal arts education with today’s need for flexibility and practical skills. The program is especially attractive to adults and workplace professionals who have some college credits and want an interdisciplinary program, and to students who wish to prepare for specialized careers for which there are no specific academic majors available.
The Multidisciplinary Studies program allows students to focus on developing skills in communication and analysis along with leadership abilities. Students will work closely with their advisers to design a program that creates intellectual depth in an area of study that is unique to their interests, but also aligns with the theoretical foundation of a liberal arts degree. The goal of the Bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies is to provide a broad education that introduces methods of analysis used in the liberal arts disciplines. In addition, it can also prepare students to address the complex social, cultural, ethical, and organizational issues they may face in leadership positions.
