To help raise awareness about hunger, Penn State Brandywine students created sustainability-themed structures made entirely from food items. After the structures were disassembled, the food was donated to the Media Food Bank.
Sophomore Max Savidge, who was part of the Castle on the Hill team, helped load the donated food items that were taken to the Media Food Bank after the competition.
Penn State Brandywine's Commission for Women presented two awards for outstanding contributions to the campus and community at the commission’s annual Women’s History Month luncheon on March 12. Sophomore Jemimah Mwaba (left) received the student Woman of the Year award, while Lecturer in Information Sciences and Technology Nannette D'Imperio received the faculty Woman of the Year award.
As part of their trip to Puerto Rico, Brandywine students volunteered by completing restoration work at Reserva Natural Ciénaga Las Cucharillas, a local mangrove reserve damaged by Hurricane Maria in 2017.
Penn State University Libraries’ Short Edition short story dispensers are now at five of its Commonwealth Campus library locations, including, clockwise from left, John D. Vairo Library at Penn State Brandywine, Penn State Harrisburg Library, Berks Thun Library and John M. Lilley Library at Penn State Behrend. With its placement this semester of five additional short story dispensers, the University Libraries now has 10 short story dispensers University-wide, including one with community partner Schlow Centre Region Library, making it both the first and largest university partner with Short Edition worldwide.
During spring break, Penn State Brandywine students studied abroad in Ireland and Puerto Rico through Brandywine Global Programs. Both trips included accompanying courses that are completed before, during and after travel. Pictured are students at Belfast City Hall in Northern Ireland.
