The New Student Orientation (NSO) program is required for all first-year students to attend. The program is your introduction to Penn State University and the Brandywine campus.
Before You Arrive
Do Your Pre-NSO Homework
Penn State Brandywine offers New Student Orientation tutorials to help you get the most out of your advising and course scheduling experience during Orientation. Please take time prior to attending your NSO to review Understanding A Penn State Degree
Select Your NSO Date
New Student Orientation is held on specific dates in May, June, and August. Prior to being able to select your date, you will receive instructions by email for completing the online placement test. You must complete your placement test and Educational Planning Survey (EPS) before you will be allowed to choose your NSO date. Once you have completed the placement test and EPS you will be able to log in to make your reservation: http://orientation.psu.edu/reservation.
RESERVATIONS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL AFTER APRIL 1.
On Your NSO Day
The program will begin in the Tomezsko Classroom Building Lounge. Please arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. to check in and receive your Penn State student ID and other important materials. This program will conclude at 1:00 p.m. Parents are encouraged to attend, and will attend separate sessions from students for most of the day.
Remember that you MUST bring a photo ID (driver’s license, Pennsylvania ID card, Passport, military ID) with you for identification purposes.
