The W.W. Smith Charitable Trust awarded a combined grant of $103,000 for student scholarships to Penn State Abington and Penn State Brandywine. Scholarships up to $7,000 will be available to qualified full-time students at both campuses with unmet financial need.
Penn State Brandywine alumnus Gerald “Jerry” Parsons and his wife Eleanor have made a significant gift to the University to name “Parsons Hall,” the dining hall located in the campus’ newly constructed student union building that opened this fall.
Penn State Brandywine recently hired a new director of enrollment management. Nicola DiFronzo-Heitzer, previously employed by Immaculata University in Malvern, assumed her role at the beginning of June.
Penn State is moving toward a University-wide health insurance requirement for the 2018-19 academic school year. In preparation for the new requirement, University Health Services (UHS) will begin collecting student health insurance information in May 2017.
After a five-year campaign effort, the Penn State Brandywine Alumni Society has raised $50,000 for a student scholarship — a number that will be doubled by the Penn State Board of Trustees.
The Penn State Office for General Education is pleased to announce an opportunity for faculty interested in developing a new Integrative Studies General Education course.
As the University implements its long-range strategic plan that provides a vision for Penn State’s future, a series of public forums will take place to gather ideas on putting the plan into action. Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in those forums, starting with “Stewarding Our Planet’s Resources” on Jan. 23.
On Oct. 6 the Penn State community will come together to kick off an ongoing University-wide initiative that brings students, faculty and staff together to show their commitment to cultivating a diverse and inclusive environment. “All In at Penn State: A Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion” will begin with a public event at 7:15 p.m. in front of Old Main on the University Park campus that will be livestreamed to the campuses.
With the delegated access function in LionPATH, students can grant a parent or guardian the ability to view a selection of their student data for fall 2016 and beyond. Parents/guardians will continue to use eLion to view spring and summer 2016 student information.
