Summer is part of the 2016-2017 academic year at Penn State; therefore students seeking financial aid for PaSSS MUST complete a FAFSA at fafsa.gov before the federal deadline of June 30, 2017. For more information, please visit the Office of Student Aid website.

Students who meet the eligibility requirements for the Federal Pell Grant for the 2016-2017 year may receive a Federal Pell Grant for up to $1454 toward PaSSS.

Students may borrow Federal Direct Stafford Loans for summer (2016-2017 FAFSA required); amount of loan eligibility is typically $2750 ($1750 subsidized; $1000 unsubsidized).

Additional supplemental aid may be available (maximum limits will vary based on individual circumstances) through the Federal Parent PLUS Loan or private alternative loans. Please choose carefully, as terms and conditions vary widely!

Students enrolling in PaSSS will be contacted by Karen Deery, Brandywine’s Student Aid Coordinator to go over next steps, procedures and follow-up as needed. Inquiries welcome by email at kdeery@admissions.psu.edu or by phone at 610-892-1260.

While there is state funding for summer for new students through Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA), PaSSS is a six-week program, and PHEAA requires summer enrollment of at least eight (8) weeks in order to be eligible for consideration.
