Business Minor

Business Minor

This interdisciplinary minor provides students with a business-oriented supplement to their academic major. It is designed to introduce students to a variety of fundamental business skills and knowledge. The minor consists of 19 credits, at least 6 credits of which must be at the 400 level. Only courses in which students earn a grade of C or better may be counted toward fulfillment of the requirements for the minor.

Select 3 credits from ECON 102 or ECON 104  (Sem: 1-5)

Select 6 credits at the 400 level in consultation with your adviser and the approval of the director of the Business Minor (Sem: 5-8).

Permitted: ACCTG, B A, B LAW, E B F, ECON, ENTR, FIN, FINSV, H P A, I B, LER, MIS, MGMT, MKTG, R M, SCM, or STAT  (No more than 3 credits from other disciplines and only with prior approval – see list below. Provide rationale for other requests.)

IST majors who are interested in the Business Minor may take one of the following courses that will count for 3 credits of supporting courses at the 400 level needed for the minor:
IST 402(3), IST 420(3), IST 425(3), IST 431(3), IST 432(3), IST 461(3)

IMPACT ON A STUDENT'S RECORD
When a student graduates, completion of a minor is recorded on his/her transcript by the Registrar, and the student receives an official certificate certifying completion of the minor. (The certificate is given with the diploma.)
