First implemented in 1999 to address the needs of students for whom English is a second language, the Cluster focuses on an American Studies course that introduces American culture from an historical perspective, at the same time exploring the values, practices, and beliefs of American culture while incorporating a global perspective. Other cluster courses focus on strengthening reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Study Skills Workshops
There are six one-time workshops focusing on specific study skills such as time or stress management and test-taking strategies. Workshops are offered spring and fall semester during Common Hour in 110 Vairo. View our schedule.
This is an individualized program designed to prepare entering students for their college math and English classes while building study skills and to introduce students to the campus as well as to aid them in developing the coping skills necessary to be successful in college at Penn State.
World Campus Testing
Brandywine Learning serves as a testing center for Penn State World Campus online exams. Students that need to utilize this service can do so by using our online scheduler. Appointments for proctoring are limited, so students taking World Campus courses must set up an appointment time with Brandywine Learning as soon as they know their course requires a proctored exam.
Students having trouble with the online scheduler should contact Cliff Welby at firstname.lastname@example.org or 610-892-1460.
