Committee Letters Of Recommendation
A Committee Letter is a compilation of all of the individual letters of recommendation/evaluation that have been written on your behalf. Committee Letters are only offered for students who have completed the full Accelerated Undergraduate Postbaccalaureate Medical Sciences Program.
It is up to the applicant to collect the individual letters of recommendation, along with the release forms for each person who writes a letter. Letters should be in sealed envelopes with a signature across the flap of the envelope. The Committee will not accept letters that are not in sealed envelopes.
A signed copy of the Letter of Recommendation Request release form must be received by the Committee in order for the letter to be included in the Committee Letter. The Committee will NOT inform the applicant about the status of the release forms; it is up to the applicant to ensure that the people writing letters on their behalf have included a release form.
Applicants must also complete and sign a committee release form. We will not compile a Committee Letter for you without a copy of your signed release.
The Committee will meet with applicants in April and May; we will have your committee letters uploaded by August 1. We recommend that you begin asking for individual letters of evaluation around the beginning of the year.
Before you schedule your committee interview, we need to have ALL of the following:
- Individual letters of recommendation with release forms
- Personal statement
- Signed release form for the Committee Letter
- Any relevant ID numbers (AMCAS, Interfolio, etc.) if available
- Record of standardized exams (MCAT, DAT, GRE, etc.) if available
- Copies of transcripts (if we don't already have these)
Contact the Continuing Education office to set up your interview.
Send the materials listed above to Dr. Margaret Bacheler, Director of Continuing Education, Penn State Brandywine, 25 Yearsley Mill Rd., Media, PA 19063.
Again, please note that the Committee will not meet with applicants until we have all of the individual letters of recommendation, completed release forms for the individual letters of recommendation, and a signed, completed committee release form.
