Penn State Brandywine offers 11 minors that students may choose to enhance their course of study and gain expertise in an area outside of their major. Students may explore areas of special interest by adding a minor, which typically consists of 18 credits. The minor will not appear on the student's diploma, but it can strengthen a resume and show prospective employers the depth and reach of the student's academic experience.
Although students are not required to complete a minor, many choose to do so to bring cohesiveness to their electives. Students may complete one or more minors to pursue secondary areas of interest, develop skills and a knowledge base that complements their major, or express themselves in a creative area that may become an avocation.
Students enrolled in select majors may choose to take courses which will result in the awarding of a minor certificate upon completion of a baccalaureate degree in the following areas:
- American Studies - AMSCC
- Business - BSBCC
