Suicide Prevention Week, Sept. 5-8

Brandywine Counseling Services and Student Activities will be hosting events to raise awareness about suicide and mental health, as well as help students develop stress-management and resiliency skills. Students who learn healthy ways of managing their stress are more successful in college. Mental health conversations are vital to students being able to identify, understand, and develop skills that will allow them to succeed and grow in the classroom. 

Tuesday, September 5
Cirque de Stress

Play is a wonderful way to manage stress and difficult emotions. This event will provide an afternoon of de-stressing and HAVING FUN!

Wednesday, September 6
Got Emoji

We will be organizing mental health screenings all around campus. The free mental health screening tool will be available to the entire Penn State Community through the Counseling Services website. Students who complete the anonymous survey will be given an emoji pillow.

Thursday, September 7 
SMILE: A One Man Performance

Smile is an autobiographical, one-man comedy show about depression and the loss of first love.

Friday, September 8
Suicide Awareness and Prevention Workshop

Sara Ralph, LPC is a local mental health provider and former Student Affairs professional. Sara will provide a workshop to help spread awareness about suicide.
