  --------------------------------------- SEASON UPDATE ---------------------------------------
Penn State Brandywine hosted its first ever home playoff match this Tuesday, October 18, 2011. After finishing fourth in the PSUAC with a record of 12-4 the Brandywine Lions hosted Penn State Mont Alto in the first round of playoffs. The Lady Lions were pumped to play in their gym and came out with energy and excitement. The stands were filled and hopes were high. Mont Alto took the first game which only made Brandywine more hungry. The tides turned in the second game and Brandywine started on top and stayed there for the remainder of the game. Captain Melanie Tyson, libero Alexandra Vitale, setter Kate Cowan, and middle hitter Amanda Rasley lead them to a win. Miscommunication was the downfall of Brandywine in the third and fourth games but the girls laid everything they had on their home court. "I've never seen my girls play with this much intensity and focus. We took momentum early in the second game and didn't let up, if we could have continued at this level the match would have been ours for the taking." said head coach Melissa Algeo. The team is disappointed to see the season come to an end but are already thinking to next year!
