Penn State Brandywine welcomes John Guinane, a videographer at NBC affiliate WGRZ in Buffalo, to our campus to discuss his experiences covering this kind of national news story. From the impact of experiencing a major airline crash, to dealing with witnesses and family, as well as what it was like to work with federal, state, and local authorities, Guinane’s lecture will give insight to what it was like for he and the others on his news team that were among the first on scene the night of Thursday, February 12, 2009 when Continental Flight 3407 crashed in Buffalo, killing 50 people.
