Featuring poet/author, Kate Northrop

Kate Northrop will be the featured poet/author for Penn State Brandywine's annual LiTapaLooZa literary festival set for Thursday, April 3, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Tomezsko Classroom Building Lounge. Northrop's first collection, Back Through Interruption (Kent State University, 2002), received the Stan and Tom Wick Poetry Award and was runner-up for the Great Lakes New Writers Award. She is currently associate professor of English/creative writing at West Chester University, and contributing editor at The American Poetry Review. In addition to Northrop, an open mike session will allow participants to read, recite, chant, rap or otherwise express themselves through creative works, and the campus' literary magazine, Penn in Hand, will likely be distributed. The event, which is free and open to the public, will include refreshments.
