“By choosing this program I was able to complete my prerequisites for medical school while working full time,” enthused Christie Mulholland, whose goal is a career in medicine. Christie has been accepted at two medical schools, having finished Brandywine’s Postbaccalaureate program last spring.

“It was the best of both worlds,” said Manan Shah, who researched other programs before choosing Penn State Brandywine’s because of its online course format and semimonthly on-campus weekend sessions.

Manan also completed the Postbaccalaureate program last spring and is now in France doing research while applying for an MD/PHD program.

Brian Fletcher, who is now at Drexel in a Physician's Assistant program, said the Postbaccalaureate program’s flexibility  allowed him to continue working during the year he was completing the science courses needed for his PA program.

“The blended format helps working adults fit the course work into a busy schedule. We had great professors; they were knowledgeable and interested in our success.”

What our students are saying

Andrea Maxwell

"Simply stated, my career goal is to become a Doctor of Dermatology, and I believe that the Medical Sciences Certificate Program is my first step in achieving this goal," said Andrea Maxwell.

Tim Caldwell

"As a working professional who is a non-traditional student, it is extremely difficult to suddenly stop providing an income and was my frustration until I found the Penn State Brandywine program. The ability to continue providing an income for myself and my past success with distance education made my decision to apply to the program easy," said Tim Caldwell

Richard Elliott

“I look towards the Postbaccalaureate program as a means to complete the requirements of a premedical curriculum while still maintaining my status as a working full-time professional ...”

Kris Lambert

“I attended the Penn State Postbac information session, feeling ambivalent about the structure of the year-long primarily internet-based program. After the one-hour session, any doubts I had were entirely purged. I was originally afraid there would be minimal contact with the instructors – that they would be strangers. I was dead wrong. The professors are dedicated and motivated to nurture it through its infancy and to see it flourish. They exuded such confidence in the cohesion of the program that I felt compelled to succeed,” said Kris Lambert.
