Dr. Don Taylor is an assistant professor of finance at Penn State Brandywine. He teaches courses in financial planning, finance, and investments for the university.Previously, Dr. Taylor was an associate professor of finance at The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pa., where he taught coursework in financial planning and investments. He is co-author of the textbook: "Financial Planning: Process and Environment," now in its third edition. He has professional experience as a treasurer, consultant, financial planner and debt analyst.

Dr. Taylor earned his B.S. degree in finance from The Pennsylvania State University. His M.B.A. degree was conferred by the Rochester Institute of Technology. His Ph.D. is in finance and was conferred by Florida Atlantic University. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, he is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certificant, a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and a Chartered Advisor in Senior Living (CASL). He is a member of the CFA Institute, The Academy of Financial Services, the Financial Planning Association, and the Financial Management Association. He is on the review board of The Journal of Financial Planning and the Journal of Financial Service Professionals.

Dr. Taylor writes a daily personal finance advice column for Bankrate.com, a web site dedicated to consumer financial issues. The column, "Ask Dr. Don" answers readers’ questions about: savings, investments, money management, mortgages, and retirement issues.

Dr. Taylor’s research interests lie in the analysis of distribution strategies for retirement portfolios and related topics in financial planning.

When not teaching or writing, Dr. Taylor enjoys reading, walking his Labrador, trap shooting, wine tasting, sports cars, and spending time with family and friends.
