Associate Professor of Earth Sciences
B.S., Bucknell University in Pennsylvania; Ph.D. in Marine Geology and Geophysics from the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science in Florida.  
Recipient of the Commonwealth College Award for Teaching Excellence, 2005.  Recipient of the George W. Atherton Award for Excellence in Teaching, 2006. 
Scholarly/Research Interests: innovative uses of technology to enhance student learning in introductory-level geoscience courses; incorporating service learning with the geosciences.
Joined campus faculty in 2001.

JOHN R. OUSEY, JR.
Associate Professor Emeritis of Environmental Sciences
B.A., LaSalle College; M.Ed., The Pennsylvania State University; M.S., Drexel University; D.Ed., The Pennsylvania State University.
Recipient of Outstanding Teacher Award in 1975 and 1992. University Collaborative Teaching Award, 1993. Recipient of the George W. Atherton Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1994.
Scholarly/Research Interests: Mathematical modeling of stream basis discharge; history of technology utilization, e.g., early transportation in Eastern North America-canals, railroads, etc; technology in the classroom using computer-based instruction to enhance instruction; environmental education-especially in training elementary school teachers to use the outdoors for educational purposes.
